City of Beijing

Beijing , is the capital of the People's Republic of China , and is the national centre of politics, economy, transportation, science and culture. It is a city reflecting both ancient culture and modern civilization, attracting tens of millions of people from home and abroad every year to experience its unique culture and charm.

Beijing has a glorious history and a precious cultural heritage… The Great Wall is a masterpiece which spans several hundred miles of Beijing's outer-regions; the picturesque Summer Palace is the classic work of ancient royal gardens; the Forbidden City is the world's greatest imperial palace; and the Temple of Heaven is the place where Chinese emperors offered sacrifices to heaven - the crown jewel of ancient Chinese architecture. And while these four historic sites are all considered world cultural heritage sites by UNESCO, the typical “Beijing Style” is to be found in the simple alleys and courtyards of the Beijing hutongs… Now gradually disappearing with the onset of the modern world, they have survived hundreds of years of wind and rain to remain historic symbols of olden day Peking-style life.

Beijing is a city of delicious food! Peking roast duck, the feast of both the Man and Han deities and well-known around the world is but one dish. Beijing also brings various other Chinese culinary styles and delights together in one place, offering besides those much renowned foreign cuisine including French, Russian, Brazilian, Italian, and Japanese as well as many other cultures of the East and West.

This is Beijing … ancient yet young, full of old and new world charm. We know you will enjoy spending time here with us!
