1. Beijing Glorious Land Agricultural Co. Ltd

Beijing Glorious Land Agricultural Co. Ltd (GLAC) was founded in February 1998, and is a hi-tech agricultural enterprise. State owned shares cover some 70%, and it has a registered capital of 366 million RMB. By December 2005, total assets were about 3,200 million. GLAC was recently nominated as “National Dragon-Head Agriculture Enterprise” by eight ministries and commissions of state.

GLAC promotes industry and product upgrades through technological advancement, which brings regional development and agricultural modernization and industrialization. Throughout several years, GLAC has been developing three well-qualified core technological series: a fine breeding system, bio-tech and animal embryo engineering, and a herbal medicine / biological pharmacy. A market support system, including for wholesale markets for farm and sideline products and the delivery centers of green and safe food, has also been recently established. Since 2003, GLAC has entered into the field of ecological industry by green lake wetland reconstruction engineering.

The distribution and logistical system set up by GLAC takes “growing a secure market” as a main objective, with an authorized analytical center as quality guarantee. GLAC applies the process of producing, managing, delivering and selling safe food, and will increase investment by drawing on stocks and logistics, with a purchase amount that will exceed 12 billion RMB within three years.

2. Beijing Xin Fa Di Agricultural Products Wholesale Market

Beijing Xin Fa Di Agricultural Products Wholesale Market was founded in May 1988. After 17 years of construction and development it has become the professional agricultural trading market with the largest trade volume in Beijing , an important example for similar kinds of markets in the country.

The market now covers 1,370 acres with a total construction area of nearly 150,000 square meters and more than 1,000 personnel. Total investment reaching 267 million yuan. Market products are mainly vegetable, fruit, seeds, edible oil, meat, aquatic products, non-staple food, spices, poultry, eggs and tea.

3. Shanghai Agricultural Product Central Wholesale Market

The Shanghai City Market is a modern perishable agricultural wholesale market, supporting and promoting the circulation of Chinese agricultural products and helping China meet the growing consumption of agricultural products.

Shanghai Agricultural Product Central Wholesale Market is the Shanghai City Government's key project “Basket of Vegetable” and is the biggest and most comprehensive agricultural product wholesale market in Shanghai . The market is ul tim ately planned to cover an area of 27 hectares with the first phase of the market project covering an area of 8.5 hectares and a building area of nearly 50,000 square meters has already been finished and opened. At present, the market project is now in its second phase.

Shanghai Agricultural Product Central Wholesale Market is designated as the collection point of price information for the agricultural product supply and demand system by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China .

4. Shangdong Shouguang Vegetable Wholesale Market Co. ,LID

The vegetable trading volume is 3.5 billion kilograms per year, and the turnover comes to 4.9 billion yuan per year. The market is one of the country's biggest vegetable wholesale markets and is famous for it's large-scale, high-grade and variety of product.

5. Qindao Cheng-Yang Vegetable and Aquatic Products Wholesale Market

Chengyang Vegetable and Aquatic Products Wholesale Market in Qindao City is one of the top five agricultural products wholesale markets in the country. It is a comprehensive, multifunctional and advanced large–scale agricultural product wholesale market, which belongs to the “Vegetable Basket Project” of Qindao City .

The Cheng-yang Vegetable and Aquatic Products Wholesale Market was given the titles of “civilized market of Shandong province” and “consumer trustworthy market ”for many successive years.
